Over the past few years, there has been an increased push from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to align and integrate the Medicaid and Medicare systems for dual eligibles. But studies have found that fewer than 10% of the dual-eligible population are enrolled in integrated products. This has left states and CMS looking for ways to simplify the number of product options and improve the member experience.
