Gina Capra serves as Senior Vice President for Training and Technical Assistance at the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC). Ms. Capra leads a talented team responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of education, training and technical assistance services for 1,400 community health centers across the country.
During her career, Ms. Capra has passionately advocated for quality, health care access and improved health outcomes for individuals and communities. Ms. Capra joined the UnitedHealthcare FQHC National Advisory Board (FQHC Board) over two years ago because she believes that, “UnitedHealthcare’s support of this advisory board symbolizes the commitment to serving patients who are traditionally underserved, for whom access to care and ultimately health outcomes are not assured.”
Ms. Capra has stated that the FQHC Board creates a place where, “Ongoing communication, exchange of ideas and analysis of data & trends support a trusting, solutions-oriented partnership between UnitedHealthcare and the national network of health centers, their workforce and most importantly, close to 30 million patients served annually by the health center program across approximately 13,000 delivery sites.”
When asked to describe the most significant topic the FQHC Board has discussed to date, Ms. Capra noted, “Continuity of care during a pandemic and other emergency events that disrupt the delivery system as we know it in this country.” Ms. Capra recognizes that without the board, this group may have had to navigate the new challenges bought on by the COVID-19 pandemic on their own.
