United for Texas

It is our privilege to work with you to help Texans live healthier lives. It is our goal to help the health system work better for the state, care providers, community organizations and the people we serve. We are United for Texas.

Our promise to the people of Texas:

Health care is constantly changing in Texas and throughout the country, and all stakeholders – consumers, care providers, community partners and federal and state governments – feel the impact. In the face of this changing landscape, the business and social mission of UnitedHealthcare will always remain the same: To help people live healthier lives and to help make the health system work better for everyone.

We have a long history in the great state of Texas and are proud of our record improving the health of the people we are privileged to serve through the delivery of quality, cost-effective health care. We are committed to continuing to move Texas Medicaid forward today and for the future.

Ensuring access to high-quality, affordable care that meets the unique needs of each member

We work to ensure our members can rely on a health care system that is accessible and connected. This includes the delivery of high-quality care that is responsive to the needs of each member, as well as the communities in which they live. We work to empower our members to be active participants in their own health - and we work to remove any barriers that stand in the way.

Providing value by managing costs and improving the health of the people we serve

We focus on programs and practices that deliver proactive, integrated care that addresses not just health conditions, but also the social and environmental factors related to an individual's well-being. This approach is designed to reduce duplication of services and treatments that only address a portion of the underlying health need – ultimately curbing costs while also improving outcomes.

Developing partnerships and resources to address areas that directly affect health and quality of life

UnitedHealthcare collaborates with local organizations and decision-makers to better understand and address the barriers to better health. Bringing together local care providers, community leaders and neighborhood social programs builds trust and helps entire communities strengthen their physical, social and economic health. This collaborative approach helps to maximize limited resources and efficiently address existing gaps; ultimately enabling more individuals to engage in their health.

Supporting providers to help drive improved member outcomes

A key component of our work involves strong collaboration with providers. We work alongside providers, listening to their needs and gathering insights about how we can help simplify and enhance their experience. We also focus on enhancing providers’ ability to deliver high-quality care by developing value-based care programs and investing in supports and technology that help expand their capacity and capabilities.
