We look forward to seeing those attending the National Association of Medicaid Directors (NAMD) conference from November 14-16 in Washington, D.C. This year, we invite you to learn how we’re working to improve health equity and enhance the lives of our Medicaid members.
At UnitedHealthcare, we’re dedicated to serving the needs of children and families, especially those in underserved communities. One way we’re doing this is through our partnership with Sesame Workshop to create Sesame Street in Communities storybooks. These storybooks are caregiver and community resources that help expand critical childhood development and build a strong foundation for lifelong healthy habits. Our latest series focuses on teaching resilience — a skill that’s certainly needed today.
We’re also supporting Comfy-Cozy Spaces, Sesame Street-decorated, child-friendly areas designed within places that could be stress-inducing for children, such as health centers and public housing. Comfy-Cozy spaces help children learn coping mechanisms and encourage conversations between parents, caregivers, and kids. If you’re attending the conference, stop by Booths 28 and 29 to experience an in-person Comfy-Cozy Space and settle in with a storybook.
Hear more about the Comfy-Cozy spaces from our Chief Executive Officer, Tim Spilker.
While visiting our booths you can see how we’re working to contribute to the systemic changes needed to improve health equity.
