Education & Celebration for expectant North Carolina moms

UnitedHealthcare is partnering on issues important to North Carolina: Partnering for Healthy Babies

North Carolina ranks 42nd in the nation in infant mortality, with more than seven infant deaths for every 1,000 live births.1

UnitedHealthcare works collaboratively with local health departments, FQHC's and Walgreens in both Guilford and Cumberland counties to host Community Baby Showers for underserved expectant moms. The educational events connect expectant moms with a network of community resources including pediatric, food assistance, women’s health and career resources.

Each mom receives a Baby Box (infant crib), complete with mattress and fitted sheet, and diapering/hygiene essentials for their babies.
