UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Arizona is proud to have earned Health Plan Accreditation and Long-Term Services & Supports Distinction from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). NCQA recognizes health care organizations for meeting rigorous standards for consumer protection and quality improvement. This recognition demonstrates UnitedHealthcare’s commitment to providing accessible, high-quality, person-centered care to Arizonans.
The Health Plan Accreditation is based on standards including quality management and improvement, population health management, network management, and member connections. The Accreditation was awarded to the plan for meeting rigorous requirements for consumer protection and quality improvement.
Long-Term Services & Supports Distinction recognizes health plans that provide efficient and effective managed health services and coordinated social support for Long-Term Care members. The Distinction is awarded based on focus areas including person-centered care planning, care transitions, coordination of services, and critical incident management systems.
UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Arizona has a long history serving members and communities across the state. The plan recently celebrated 40 years of collaboration and partnership with Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS).The plan has also served Long-Term Care members since the inception of the Arizona Long Term Care System in 1989. Today, we serve more than 500,000 Arizonans – the most of any Medicaid health plan in Arizona – across our Medicaid, Long-Term Care and Developmental Disabilities programs.
We are dedicated to expanding community access and support of high-quality care across the state by investing in local communities. Recent investments include:
- A grant of $3 million from the United Health Foundation to Valle del Sol Community Health for mobile units delivering integrated care to high-need communities in Phoenix.
- An $800,000 investment in the Brighter Way Institute to build and deploy a mobile dental clinic serving low-income areas with dental screenings, including people experiencing homelessness, veterans, and families.
- An $800,000 investment to launch Phoenix’s first March of Dimes Mom & Baby Mobile Health Center™.
- A donation to the Arizona Community Health Workers Association to increase the number of Community Health Workers serving Medicaid members across the state.
