Roger Brown is the West Regional Growth Officer at UnitedHealthcare Community & State. In his role, Roger leads a team focused on comprehensive growth initiatives which center on better serving the health and overall needs of members, providers, state partners, and communities. Prior to this role, Roger served as the Vice President of Business Development for UnitedHealthcare Community and State, serving as a leader in procurement strategy development, preparedness, and strategic implementation. Roger has experience in growth, operations, and stakeholder and provider relations.

 

Prior to his work with Community & State, Roger was with our Military & Veterans segment, and before joining UnitedHealthcare had 30 years of leadership experience in the Defense Industry, both private sector and active duty, retiring as a Colonel from the US Air Force in 2012.  Roger holds a BS in Marketing and Management from the University of South Carolina, and master’s degrees from the University of Oklahoma in Human Relations, Western Governor’s University in Business Administration, and the USAF Air War College in Strategy.  

Suzy Sonnier

Central Regional Growth Officer

Suzy Sonnier is a dynamic leader with more than 20 years of experience advocating for healthcare, human services and education. She is especially passionate about driving results within complex systems through shared strategies, innovative thinking and focused execution.

 

As a Regional Growth Office for UnitedHealthcare Community and State, Sonnier is responsible for developing and executing growth strategies for all Medicaid markets in the Central Region. Prior to this role, Sonnier served as the Vice President of Strategy and Development for UnitedHealthcare Community and State supporting the Tennessee and Kentucky markets. Sonnier previously served as the founding Executive Director of the Baton Rouge Health District. In her role, she worked with hospital administrators, government agencies, community leaders and healthcare professionals creating a unified medical community to coordinate investment decisions, enhance care in the region, facilitate economic development and position Baton Rouge as a healthcare destination.

 

Sonnier previously served as Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services where she managed Louisiana’s child welfare, child support enforcement, disability determination services and low-income economic assistance programs. Prior to that she was Chief Operations Officer for the Louisiana Workforce Commission, Deputy Secretary for the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services and Director of Policy for the Louisiana Department of Health. She holds a Master of Science in Public Administration from Louisiana State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

 

In 2021 Sonnier was recognized as one of the Nashville Medical News 2021 Women to Watch as well as a recipient of the 2021 Health Care Innovation Awards honorees by the Nashville Business Journal. Sonnier is a graduate of the Nashville Health Care Council 2020 Fellows program and currently serves on the Chattanooga Interagency Council on Homeless and Chattanooga FUSE Advisory Council.

Kelly Reidenbach is East Regional Growth Officer at UnitedHealthcare Community & State. In her role, Kelly leads a team focused on comprehensive growth initiatives centered on better serving the health and overall needs of members, providers, state partners, and communities. Prior to this role, Kelly served as the Vice President of Strategy and Development for UnitedHealthcare Community and State, serving as a leader in procurement strategy development, preparedness, and strategic implementation. Kelly has expertise in policy development and evaluation, growth and operations, stakeholder and provider relations, and strategy development and amplification. She has extensive experience in leading teams and functional partners to advance large-scale projects in complex organizational structures.

 

Prior to her work with Community & State, Kelly held leadership and senior advisory roles in government. Kelly worked with both state legislative and executive leaders to enhance the health and human services infrastructure of the state. Throughout her tenure in public service, Kelly worked across multiple agencies and departments to develop and advance priority policy initiatives. Kelly holds a B.A. in Political Science from the Ohio State University.

Joe Gaudio is the West Region CEO at UnitedHealthcare Community & State. Joe brings a diverse financial background to his role as West Region CEO. Joe began his career with UnitedHealth Group in 1998 serving as Chief Financial Officer of UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Arizona, and as West Region and Public Sector CFO for United Healthcare. Joe’s most recent role was CEO of the Community Plan of Arizona. Prior to joining UnitedHealth Group, Joe served as Chief Financial Officer of Arizona Physicians IPA, Inc., a Medicaid managed care organization. Joe is a Certified Public Accountant who began his career with Arthur Andersen & Company in the Audit Division after attaining his B.S., Accounting, from Arizona State University.

Jean began her career at UnitedHealth Group in 2012 as Senior Vice President of Corporate Finance at Optum (a division of UnitedHealth Group) responsible for activities including strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting, pricing, actuarial services, corporate consolidations and capital.

 

Subsequent roles include Chief Financial Officer for UnitedHealthcare Community & State where she was responsible for the overall financial management of the business and the Chief Financial Officer of Optum, where she and her finance teams worked closely with business leaders to set strategy, drive financial accountability, improve overall cost position, support the development and execution of business plans, provide decision support and optimize the deployment of capital.

 

Before joining UnitedHealth Group, Jean served in a number of executive positions at companies within the financial services industry and started her career in public accounting.

Patrick earned a Bachelor of History, Philosophy from Metropolitan State College of Denver and a Masters of Health Policy & Economics from the University of Colorado.

Michael Minor serves as Chief Executive Officer of the UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Georgia. Mike brings over 20 years of healthcare experience to his role. Prior to joining UnitedHealthcare, Mike held leadership positions with Amerigroup/Anthem, Centene, and Wellcare. He has extensive knowledge of Medicaid managed care, Medicare Dual Special Needs plans, finance, and provider contracting. 

 

Mike focuses on building and expanding on the strong relationships UnitedHealthcare has with healthcare providers, community-based organizations, and faith-based partners across the state to ensure all Georgians have access to the supports and services needed to live healthier lives.

Krista brings over 20 years of experience in the health care industry. She joined UnitedHealth Group in 2005 and has held leadership roles across the enterprise. In her most recent experience as a Client Partner for Optum Advisory Services, Krista helped the largest clients craft and execute solutions for their challenges and opportunities, creatively combining products and consulting solutions across the portfolio of UnitedHealth Group companies.   Krista has also led sales strategy and planning for the UnitedHealthcare Medicare and Retirement teams. She also led network development and population health for one of UnitedHealth Group’s innovations – Harken Health, an integrated primary care and insurance offering for the individual exchange market.   
 

Krista has completed UnitedHealth Group’s Executive Development Program and General Manager program.  In 2010 Krista was recognized with the enterprise’s Living the Mission award for her work in the community, including chairing the board of the Allina Hospice Foundation.    
 

Krista earned both a Bachelor of Science in Business and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity University (San Antonio, TX). Krista also holds a Masters of Business Administration from Kellogg, Northwestern University and a certificate of financial valuation from the London School of Economics.

Parnell is very familiar with Mississippi Medicaid and CHIP operations. Before joining UnitedHealthcare, Parnell worked in executive roles in large health systems in Philadelphia, PA and Jackson, MS. With more than 30 years of experience in the industry, Anita has a strong background in management of integrated delivery systems, organizational and human resources management, health care operations, business strategy execution and relationship management. In recognition of her efforts, Anita was named an Outstanding Woman in Business by Triad Business Journal in 2017. Anita earned a Master of Health Science (MHS), Health Services Administration from Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, and graduated from the Executive Leadership Program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School in Philadelphia.

Erin Henderson Moore is the Executive Director, Dual Special Needs Plan - of Washington DC. Previously, she was the Director of Policy & Strategy at UnitedHealthcare Community and State. UnitedHealthcare Community and State proudly serves more than six million Medicaid members in 31 states, plus Washington D.C. In her role, Erin serves as a policy expert to Enterprise leaders, developing strategic positions to shape the direction of programs that serve complex populations and advocating for modernized Medicaid programs. Erin focuses on improving health care delivery and health care financing under value-based purchasing (VBP), supporting large-scale payment reforms, and helping to identify innovative strategies for transforming care delivery. Erin has a decade of health policy experience. Prior to joining UnitedHealthcare, Erin has held positions in the private, government, and nonprofit sectors, all with a focus on health policy and strategy. Erin has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and History from Columbia University, a Master's degree in Public Administration, and Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the Truman School of Public Affairs at the University of Missouri.

Genevieve Caruncho-Simpson is the CEO at the Community Plan of Washington in the Medicaid business for UnitedHealthcare. During her tenure, Texas Health Aetna received national recognition for its virtual care navigation and behavioral health programs, analytics-driven engagement, and holistic care approach that targets social determinants of health. She was recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of 2020’s Top 25 Minority Leaders, was named in the Rising Stars for 2018 list by Becker’s Hospital Review, and made Modern Healthcare’s Top 15 Up and Comers for 2017. Before joining Texas Health Aetna, she has also held leadership roles at Ascension, Humana, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Genevieve earned her Master of Public Administration degree from New York University, completed an executive course in Strategy for Healthcare Delivery at Harvard Business School, and holds two bachelor’s degrees (Health Information Administration and Clinical Social Work) from the University of Washington. Genevieve lives in Seattle, with her husband and two young children.

Kevin Moore is the Chief Executive Officer for the UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Wisconsin. Kevin has an extensive background in Medicaid, social determinants of health, public policy, and strategic solutions and has a long history with proven leadership and experience in state-based and government sector programs. Most recently, Kevin served as Vice President of Strategic Solutions for UnitedHealthcare Community & State. Prior to that role, Kevin joined Community & State more than three years ago as Vice President of National Policy & Strategy. Kevin previously served as Medicaid Director for the State of Wisconsin.
